In the west of the Cairngorms National Park and south of Aviemore is the village of Kincraig and the town of Kingussie, both of which lie along the banks of the River Spey.

The wakls that you can do in this area vary enormously from way-marked town orientated walks in Kingussie, to stunning remote family walks in Glenfeshie near Kincraig.

The walks associated with the Uath Lochans, located in Glenfeshire are absolutely stunning and the Lochan trail is possibly the finest short family walk in Scotland, it's absolutely superb.

A first for the Cairngorms National Park is the Sculpture Trail at Feshiebridge in Kincraig. This is a shrot and very interesting walk with unusual images carved out of trees and stone which may well have you scratching your head to understand the meaning of some of the carvings.

Walk with history, then check out the short trail from Kingussie to Ruthven Barracks which is an ancient monument dating back to 1229. While bird watchers will be in their element with the fine walks at the Insh Marshes Nature Reserve, run by the RSPB and where you are able to see close up many rare wading and water birds.
